Meroë
Research & Data

Twenty five foundations that already fund work like yours.

Each one evidenced from its own IRS Form 990-PF filing, with the grant it paid, who received it, where they were and what it was for. Not a database subscription. One report, built for your organisation, delivered in 48 hours.

One report

One brief: your cause, your state, your ask size.

$199
Three reports

Three different briefs. Separate programmes, separate states, or the same programme at three ask sizes. They do not expire.

Invoiced by Meroe LLC, a Virginia limited liability company, net 15, paid by ACH transfer or a mailed check. No card, no payment processor, no account to create. The report is delivered when we have your brief, not when we have your money, so you see the work before you pay for it.

What the data is

The IRS publishes every electronically filed Form 990-PF as machine readable XML. Part XV of that form is a line by line list of every grant a private foundation paid during the year: recipient, city, state, stated purpose, amount. All of it is public and none of it is packaged for a nonprofit that needs one good answer, once.

35,529
Funders with itemised grants

From the 2026 IRS filing year. Every figure in a report is copied from a filing. Nothing is estimated and no field is written by a language model.

What you get

A PDF report, a CSV of the same 25 rows for your spreadsheet or CRM, and an HTML copy if you would rather read it in a browser. The report also carries a methodology page showing exactly how the ranking works, a short section on approaching foundations of this size, and a disclosure page.

Two finished reports, in full

These are real reports, produced from the real dataset for example briefs rather than for clients. Nothing is redacted and no foundation in either one has been contacted. Read them, then decide.

Youth literacy, Rhode Island

Cause. literacy, youth, education

Geography. Rhode Island

Ask size. $10,000 to $25,000

Community health, Virginia

Cause. community health, health, human services

Geography. Virginia

Ask size. $25,000 to $50,000

How you order

Three questions. Two sentences each is plenty.

Optional and useful: your EIN, your annual budget, and two or three foundations that have funded you before. Nothing else. No account to create, no call to book, no data to upload.

Turnaround is 48 hours from the time we have those answers, weekends included. If a report is going to be late you hear from us before the deadline, not after it.

Refund policy

Full refund if fewer than 15 of the 25 matches are plausible. Plausible means you would consider approaching them: the cause is close enough, the geography works, and the grant size is in the right neighbourhood. You decide, not us. Say so within 14 days of delivery, tell us roughly which ones failed and why, and we refund in full and keep the feedback. You keep the report either way.

What this is not

This is research on public filings. It is not an endorsement, a referral or an introduction. We do not contact foundations on your behalf and we have no relationship with any of them. We do not write your proposal and we take no percentage of anything you raise.

It is not a guarantee of funding. Nobody can promise that a foundation will fund you. What we promise is that the list is real, current to the latest published filing, and worth your time.

990-PF filings lag one to two years. The form is filed months after a foundation's tax year closes and published months after that, so a foundation's most recent public grant list is usually a year or two old. Priorities change, programmes close, trustees turn over. Treat every row as a lead to verify, not a fact about the present.

Private foundations only. Community foundations, corporate giving programmes, donor advised funds and government grants file differently or not at all, and are outside this report. Roughly three quarters of small private foundations fund preselected organisations only. Every one of those is labelled and ranked below the foundations that are open, rather than quietly padding the 25.

The first ten are free. Send your email and your organisation and we will reply asking the three questions, then build you a full report at no charge while the first ten places last. No card, no invoice, no obligation to buy anything afterwards.

The form stores your email and organisation name only, so we can reply. Nothing is sold or shared, and there is no mailing list attached to it.
